Who We Are

Brana – Hello. I am an attorney with 6 adopted children, 2 dogs & a retired police officer husband. I grew up on a tobacco farm in rural South Carolina and was the youngest of 4 children. I spent my spring breaks, after school in the spring and my summers working in the fields with my family. My mom was number 6 of 9 children plus 4 half-brothers and sisters. My dad was number 3 of 4 children. We were always at, with or going to some kind of family event. Fast forward 30 years and now my dad, my mom and my 2 brothers have passed. My children do not have the privilege of going to Nana’s or riding the tractor with Poppy. They can only hear my stories and see the pictures I have saved. They will never hear my Dad tell the story of the mule he had growing up that kept getting him into trouble because he would only plow for Granddaddy. They won’t get to hear my mom tell about the orange and apple they got for Christmas because that was all they could afford. Sadly, I’ll never hear those tales again either.
Randi – Hi! I am a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. I am an attorney, a business coach, and soul midwife/end of life doula. We have 2 young human children and 1 fur baby. I grew up in tropical Miami, went to private school, sleepaway camp, traveled, competed in athletics, dance, and music. My parents each lived diametrically opposite upbringings and family dynamics. My ancestry is multi-cultural and beautiful in its tapestry. Stories of perseverance, of courage, work ethic, and faith. In the last years of my grandfather’s life, he expressed remorse for failure to take those risky steps, to take the road of the uncertain opportunity. The lost choices overshadowed his robust stories of entrepreneurship and drive. If only Treasure Tree existed then…I wish I could have held up his own professionally curated documentary, to remind him of his value, his worth, the legacy he built for his grandchildren. We are so very proud of him. But, I only had snippets of some stories and nothing that felt truly deep enough to offer the comfort he deserved in those times.
Our Treasure Tree was created to save other families from this same despair. The experience of grief is natural and perfectly human when we realize loss – Loss of opportunity, loss of relationship, loss of quality of life – all of these moments bring forth grief. It’s the path back from that deep place, back to reclaiming joy, where having our own Treasure Tree really matter. Start your Living Library now.
